What Is Chelation Therapy?
by William E. Richardson, MD;MSPH
|
Chelation therapy is an intravenous
treatment that introduces the synthetic amino acid,
ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, also know as EDTA into the blood
stream. EDTA binds to heavy metals, calcium and other mineral
deposits that have collected on the artery walls and excretes them
out of the body through the uterine. These and other actions of
EDTA can result in cleaning out the arteries, thereby, lowering
blood pressure and increasing circulation.
Chelation therapy is a safe alternative to drugs and surgeries. It
offers a new direction in the treatment of all dis-eases caused by
atherosclerosis (advanced hardening of the arteries) due to its
ability to promote health by correcting the major underlying cause
of arterial blockage.
Various studies and reports indicate that 85% of all patients
treated with EDTA chelation therapy have received benefits. In
addition, chelation may provide help in a host of chronic dis-eases
including: strokes, heart dis-ease, hypertension, heavy metal
poisoning, chronic fatigue, Alzheimer's, senility, arthritis,
osteoporosis, MS, varicose veins, cold hands and feet, diabetes,
and cancer.
Over 700 medical doctors in the US use chelation therapy to treat
cardiovascular illness and other dis-eases. It is estimated that
more than 2 million citizens in the U.S. and 30 million people
worldwide, have used this treatment.
